In January 2019, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) launched preparatory work for establishing the SJTU Museum led by the University Archives. In early 2020, the university officially founded the Archives and Cultural Heritage Management Center (ACC) to consolidate several key institutions : the Original University Archives, SJTU Museum, University History Museum, Cheng Ji Art Gallery, and the Tung Chao Yung Maritime Museum.
Headquartered in the 30,000-square-meter Cultural Heritage Building on Minhang Campus, the ACC allocates 5,000 square meters to museum exhibitions. Since opening, it has curated multiple interdisciplinary exhibitions.
As technical lighting partner, Mayalit delivered museum-grade illumination systems with customized solutions for diverse media formats. Thoughtfully curated lighting design enhances visitors’ experience by enabling immersive engagement with historical and artistic narratives, through improved material perception and spatial context.
