The China Grand Canal Museum spans 13.3 hectares (approximately 200 mu), with a building area of 80,000 square meters. The complex’s Neo-Tang architectural design synthesizes traditional aesthetics with contemporary functionality, comprising five major components: the main exhibition halls, inner courtyards, front plaza, the Grand Canal Pagoda, and Jin Yue Bridge. Together, the pagoda, bridge, and museum form an architecturally balanced ensemble. From the top of the tower, visitors can overlook the historic confluence known as “Sanwan Di Yiba” — a sophisticated water management design in which three staggered river bays together acted as a natural dam. The museum currently houses a collection of over 10,000 cultural relics, covering more than two millennia of cultural history.
