Suzhou Museum (West) is located in Suzhou High-Tech Zone, covers a total floor area of 48,400 square meters. Designed by the renowed German architectural firm GMP Architekten, the museum complex comprises ten standalone buildings, linked by a network of intersecting corridors.
The museum features both permanent and temporary exhibition halls. The permanent galleries consists of six thematic sections: Suzhou History, Suzhou Craftsmanship, International Collaboration, Calligraphy & Painting, Suzhou Lifestyle, and an Interactive Discovery Zone. With a strong emphasis on technological integration and digital engagement, Suzhou Museum (West) complements the original museum through differentiated positioning. Together, they embody the institution’s vision of becoming a world-class museum—one that represents Jiangnan culture, fosters innovation, and sets industry benchmarks.
