Anhui Museum, founded in 1956, currently operates under a dual-campus model. The new main building, located at 87 Huaining Road, Hefei, officially opened to the public on September 29, 2011. Its architectural design reflects traditional Hui-style aesthetics, featuring interlinked courtyards and the classic layout courtyard known as “Si Shui Gui Tang”, where rainwater from four roof slopes flows inward to a central courtyard, reflecting harmony and prosperity. Permanent exhibitions include A History of Anhui Civilization, Traditional Hui Architecture, The Four Treasures of the Study in Anhui, Treasures from the Yangtze and Huai Rivers, and The Ou Haonian Art Gallery.
The Traditional Hui Architecture permanent exhibition presents ancestral halls, archways, village water systems, and the traditional residences through artifacts, models, and photographs, highlighting the elegance and cultural depth of Hui architecture.
Mayalit provided customized museum-grade lighting to enhance architectural textures and immerse visitors in the richness of Anhui’s heritage.
